Valentine’s Day Love Declarations from French High-End Patisseries

Valentine’s Day !

Some call it a commercial celebration, and while I’m not a hater (well, maybe just a little), we’re going to focus on its commercial charm. One of the main reasons we should enjoy this particular holiday is the special collections from our French high end patisseries.Year after year, French pâtissiers have to become more and more creative for this celebration. Let’s see how they transform ordinary chocolates into extraordinary ones, how they elevate macarons, and what limited-time creations we get to discover.

Our Chouchou : Le Comptoir du Ritz

Let’s kick things off with the fabulous Le Comptoir du Ritz. For Valentine’s Day 2025, the brand and its chef, François Perret, have given a romantic twist to their signature Ritz au lait. Say hello to Ritz d’Amour!
Available until February 16th, I invite you to try this heart-shaped white chocolate creation filled with marvelous vanilla riz au lait and caramel-infused apples, all resting on an almond sablé biscuit. The addition of apples sets it apart from the original Ritz au lait, bringing flavors perfectly suited to the cold season. To complete your dessert, enjoy a lovely box of madeleines* with a dark chocolate shell and a raspberry fondant heart. For that alone, I encourage you to come celebrate this day in the city of love !

Vanilla dress in red at Maison Meert

Let’s keep it local. High-end patisseries aren’t all from Paris, ladies and gentlemen. I present to you La Maison Meert. Originally from Lille in the north of France, it is mostly known for its delicious waffles, loved by more than one celebrity. Meert enjoys spoiling its clients with exclusive creations for special occasions.

This Valentine’s Day, you can indulge in a little box of the iconic waffles, presented in a lovely Valentine’s Day-exclusive pink box. Alongside this, the house offers an entremet : an almond biscuit base topped with a Madagascar vanilla mousse (part of the brand’s DNA), passion fruit cream, raspberry and yuzu confit, and little crunchy peanuts hidden inside for a surprise touch.

And because your first experience with Maison Meert should be truly special, the brand also offers a Valentine’s Day edition of its traditional Madagascan vanilla marshmallow bears, dressed in red for the occasion. Lille can be romantic too.

No lover needed for Ladurée macarons

Of course, we love chocolate, but this Valentine’s Day, we want some originality, please! To win someone’s heart, or your own, Ladurée invites you to create your own personalized box of macarons. In a pink, heart-shaped box, you can choose your desired macaron flavors (within a pre-defined selection), plus enjoy a little surprise from the brand. The “Sweet Declaration” box hides three heart-shaped dulce de leche macarons. Ladurée once again shows its elegance with this new creation. Comfort your loved ones’ heart with these special caramel macarons.

True Love in a Trompe-l’Œil at Cédric Grolet

To finish, let’s not forget Cédric Grolet and his creations, which are becoming more and more realistic. For Valentine’s Day 2025, the chef, in collaboration with Le Meurice hotel in Paris, offers you a stunning candy apple. This beautifully designed treat hides layers of flavor : crispy palet breton (a buttery biscuit from Brittany), Japanese vanilla biscuit, and a surprise center filled with red apple fondant and vanilla caramel mousse.

Run, don’t walk to Cédric Grolet at Le Meurice to enjoy a pastry as sweet as this day should be, even if you’re celebrating yourself.

This article highlights just a few of the special creations from our French Maisons for Valentine’s Day 2025, but I hope it melts your heart and tempts your sweet tooth.
I’d like to add that Valentine’s Day is a beautiful commercial celebration, take the time to express your love to all your loved ones.

And don’t forget yourself ! You’re stuck with you until your last breath, so taking care of yourself is more than important.
