Since its debut at fashion week 2013, Simon Porte Jacquemus\u2019 brand has never failed to impress. For the upcoming Paris Fashion Week next week, Jacquemus is making a grand comeback on the runway! The brand\u2019s last appearance on the official calendar was in March 2019 for women and January 2020 for men. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

However, the brand never stopped launching its collections each season. To celebrate its return to the official calendar, we will take a moment to enjoy a retrospective of three of the most memorable Jacquemus shows from the past five years: \u201cLe Coup de Soleil\u201d (2019), \u201cLe Chouchou\u201d (2023), and \u201cLa Casa\u201d (2024).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Spring-Summer 2020, “Le Coup de Soleil”<\/h3>\n\n\n

Jacquemus’ Spring-Summer 2020 collection, \u201cLe Coup de Soleil\u201d<\/a> (\u201cThe Sunburn\u201d), was also a celebration of the brand\u2019s 10 years. It was held in a magnificent lavender field in Valensole, France. You could admire pieces that reflect the atmosphere of the South of France in summer: pastel colors like purple and yellow, oversized shirts and pants (because no one likes sticky clothes on hot, sunny days), large hats that, without a doubt, would protect you from sunstroke and offer a glimpse into the haute couture trends of the 50s, and, of course, \u201cThe Artichaut\u201d Bucket Hat<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Fall-Winter 2023, “Le Chouchou”<\/h3>\n\n\n

A Fashion show at the Ch\u00e2teau de Versailles would already be surprising, but Jacquemus took it a step further by having its guests watch the show on the water surrounding the Ch\u00e2teau. What\u2019s even more surprising now? For the brand\u2019s Fall-Winter 2023 collection, \u201cLe Chouchou\u201d<\/a>, Jacquemus privatized the Ch\u00e2teau de Versailles gardens and had its guests discover the collection from small boats along the water\u2019s edge.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This collection steers away from pastel colors, focusing instead on black, white, and red. And as the name of the collection suggests, puffy sleeves and puffed-up dresses were the highlight! To match the decor, Jacquemus closed the show with three stunning dresses: a transparent top, a puffy bottom resembling a pair of panties, and a long train. Each dress was designed in one of three colors : blue, white, and red.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Fall-Winter2024, “La Casa”<\/h3>\n\n\n

Before returning to the official calendar, for its Fall-Winter 2024 collection and 15th anniversary, the brand mesmerized everyone with its show \u201cLa Casa\u201d<\/a> in June 2024. Set in the stunning decor of Villa Malaparte in Capri, Italy, Jacquemus presented a collection with much simpler patterns, warm earthy tones like beige, terracotta, and sand, and a mix of fluid and geometric shapes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Indeed, one of the highlights was the strapless triangle dress, presented in black and in yellow. And of course, many pieces shared a common feature : a wider collar<\/a> than we are used to, a design choice that accentuated the geometric and linear aspects of the collection.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A perfect retrospective of Jacquemus’ projects over the past five years could fill an entire essay. This article highlights only some of their many projects, perhaps the most memorable ones. Through this retrospective, we can conclude that Jacquemus is a brand in full bloom, with many dimensions. Each of their collections consistently delivers fresh content, and the brand\u2019s communication strategy, which follows each collection, is on point at every level : from real-life initiatives, such as pop-up stores, to the social media strategy, which never fails to make us dream ! Jacquemus continues to redefine fashion with each collection, solidifying its place as one of the most influential brands in the industry.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Simon Porte Jacquemus is the youngest fashion designer to have his show included in the official Paris Fashion Week calendar, and his eponymous brand will make its comeback on the runway on January 26, 2025.<\/p>\n\n\n
