Focus On : Miss Sohee, the Youngest Designer at Haute Couture Week 2025

2025 promises to be spectacular on the fashion front. This January, following the men’s and haute couture weeks in Paris, brands truly knew how to blow our minds and kick off the year in style ! From a Saint Laurent men’s collection that exuded the brand’s DNA, to a marvelous, splendid, and even more elegant Schiaparelli couture collection by Daniel Roseberry that left us all in awe.
Today, I suggest we focus on one brand based in London. This fashion designer made her debut at Couture Week this January and has gained significant notoriety since then. What’s more, she is known as the youngest designer to participate in Haute Couture Week 2025.
I present to you: Miss Sohee.
The Journey of Her Career Embroidery
Miss Sohee Park is a 28-year-old fashion designer specializing in couture. She was born in Seoul, South Korea, to a children’s book writer and illustrator mother and a professor father. Since she was little, she has always enjoyed embroidery, which inspired her to pursue her dream in London. She became a fashion student at Central Saint Martins University. After graduating, Sohee launched her debut collection, The Girl in Full Bloom, in 2020 under her own label: Miss Sohee. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, this couture collection did not have a final show. Despite this, Sohee released a series of photographs of the collection’s pieces to share them with the world. These photographs went viral on social media.
Since then, you may have seen Sohee’s pieces on some famous figures, such as singers Ariana Grande and Miley Cyrus, supermodel Naomi Campbell, and actress Priyanka Chopra.
Miss Sohee is based in London, UK, but a major aspect of her brand’s DNA is the influence of her Korean heritage. Sohee skillfully combines her Korean roots with modern fashion through her collections. She reinvents traditional Korean art, Minwha, to guide her brand’s identity, adding elegant and romantic elements. The result is the brand’s signature style.
In January 2025, Sohee Park became the youngest fashion designer to ever be part of the official Haute Couture Week calendar. While her brand had previously shown at Paris Fashion Week, it was not officially part of the haute couture calendar until this season. This marked a significant milestone in her career. I invite you to discover together, Miss Sohee’s Spring/Summer 2025 collection.
Analysis : This year Spring/Summer Couture Collection
With her collection, Park Sohee brings fauna and flora right into the Hôtel Pozzo di Borgo in Paris, a renowned location that was once one of Karl Lagerfeld’s former apartments. I’m already bowing to you, Sohee. Miss Sohee beautifully merges the mouldings of this Parisian apartment with flowers inspired by her Korean heritage and touches of the underwater world.
Right from the start, the first look mesmerized the audience. The model wears an all-black ensemble adorned with vinyl shell details and, of course, embroidery. As for their attitude, Miss Sohee’s models are alive ! They embody the glamour and femininity that the pieces exude, fully playing with it. This is exactly how we like models to showcase fashion, they should become the piece and bring its style to life.

As I mentioned earlier, this collection is all about fauna and flora, but not just any. We’re talking about Korean fauna and flora. The designer brings this theme to life with fabrics like silk satin, embroidery (of course), and pearls, elements deeply rooted in Korean heritage. In fact, the term “Mother of Pearl” is closely tied to Korean culture, particularly through a traditional craft called Najeonchilgi. This art form often features jewelry boxes illustrated with intricate scenes of fauna and flora.
We dive into the underwater world with the shell details featured in her pieces and the silk satin fabric, which evokes the fluid movement of water. The silk satin also subtly reflects the purity of pearls. Adding to the aquatic vibe, the models’ hairstyles have a sleek, wet-look finish, as if they’ve just emerged from the water, magnificently radiant.
This collection is a true expression of femininity and glamour, showcased through a palette of black, white, pale pink, purple, green, and a hint of mustard yellow. Among all these shades, there’s also a striking red look. The model, with her hair styled in a traditional Korean updo, wears a silk satin red dress that elegantly hugs her curves. In ancient Asia, red symbolized power and prosperity, adding a regal touch to the collection.
To conclude our analysis, let’s focus on the music used throughout the show. Sohee chose an orchestral soundtrack with distinctive notes reminiscent of birdsong, alongside darker elements that may symbolize the depths of the underwater world.
This collection is the perfect example of a woman designing for women. Sohee understands how to celebrate the female form, with fabrics that gracefully follow the curves of the body, and subtle details like the omnipresent embroidery and pearls, which elevate and complete each look. This collection is a true ode to glamour and femininity.
At just 28 years old, Miss Park Sohee is the youngest fashion designer ever to be part of the official haute couture calendar. This is only the beginning, and we can’t wait to see what’s next in the embroidery of her career.
